FOR DUTY & CASUAL WEAR

The boonie hat was introduced to the United States Armed Forces during the Vietnam War, when U.S. Army Green Berets began wearing them in the field, along with Australian and Army of the Republic of Vietnam units. These hats were locally procured; the camo cloth was usually salvaged from other uniform items or with the former from a parachute or made up by the tailor. The name is derived from "boonie", the abbreviated form of boondocks (itself originally American military slang derived from Tagalog bundok, "mountain", during the Philippine-American War. Made to current U.S. military specs.;

    Fantastic fit and will be buying more! The only gripe I have is the metal vent rings inside the hat like to pull out my hair (0.5 inch length).

    The wide brim boonie hat is great! Exactly what I was looking for! Great quality and protected me from the sun! Would love one in black if they make them.

    This is a good hat. The wide bum version is much more useful in my opinion. I have a big head and the 7 3/4 fit fell. The only issue I have is the vents in the sides have corroded and turned green. Going to get a dark color for night time hog hunting.

    Everything was as expected except for the fact that the Brim was a little too floppy for my liking. I was hoping it would have a little more backbone.

    Good product but sizes run small. You should recommend people set the next hat size up. Which it fit better. Returning but still need a hat for my trek.
