The BDU is a classic among military clothing styles, gaining popularity as law enforcement apparel and with hunters and others who spend time in the field. These combat-tested pants give the wearer the essential features and options to get the job done, whether it’s a short hike or a tactical operation. Adopted by the U.S. military as their primary combat uniform in the early 1980s, these popular trousers served well into the mid-2000s and remain popular with many tactical cargo pants users. TRU-SPEC® BDU pants are built to U.S. specification MIL-T-44047E n a variety of fabrics, colors and camo patterns.;

I have been wearing these every day for almost 15 years now and they are the best all around pants EVER. I get 100% cotton which is very important to me and have most pairs cut into shorts with a 17 inch inseam. California all year long. Tru Spec is the best and these pants will wear for years.Posted: March 7, 2021

Everything you would expect from a mil spec BDU. Multicam pattern is outstanding. Blends in well in the Arizona Mountain country. Wore them right away for a 5 hour FTX with full kit and they were comfortable and tough enough to handle the wind, crawling around in the brush and ground work during a PB exercise. Ordered the jacket as well but it never arrived, but customer service squared it right away after I contacted them. I had bought a discontinued model XLL that showed up in inventory but that must have been a mistake. Tru Spec sent me out the newer model to make it right. Will use again. Recommend the 50 50 Cordura blend. Get some!Posted: October 23, 2020

I purchased these as a spare pair of work pants to replace an older pair when they wear out. Shipping was fast, item is as listed. Hopefully they will be as durable as the pair I have now. They do seem very rough - hoping that with washings over time they will soften up and feel more comfortable.Posted: September 23, 2020

Great pants, cool in the summer and cut big enough to wear an under layer during a Georgia winter.Posted: June 8, 2020

Pants came in much tighter than expected, waist was advertised at between 32 and 35, I usually wear pants sized 34 comfortably and they would barely button for me. Also felt restrictive around the thighs which is a disappointment since I will be using these pants to run a lot. This was by far the biggest issue but another gripe I have is with the color of the multi cam pattern it came in. All of my other multicam gear, including my Truspec blouse is much lighter than the pants. One might think this is due to fading but that is not the case since much of my gear is new. I do appreciate many of the features of the pants such as the tightening straps around the waist (though useless to me), the boot blousings that are looped into the cuffs at the bottom, and the oversized cargo pockets that look like they could fit three buses and still have room for a couple mags.Posted: June 6, 2020

Although they may be made to a past military specification, they are not manufactured in the US. I did not try them on, I can not return them, I will donate them. Tru-Spec needs to be very clear which products they sell that are not made in US. Imagine wearing US military BDU’s made outside of the country!Posted: June 5, 2020

Great product. The adjustable waistband stays fastened and the legs draw strings remains tied. Would purchase again.Posted: June 4, 2020

I got these in an XL because the L was a bit too snug, and WOW, the XL is wayyyy to big, it's easily a 3X size, no way its an XL. Returning them asap. I think the ones I had before were an older style, and they were definitely of a higher quality material, the ones I received were much thinner material than the ones I have.Posted: May 24, 2020

These pants are faithful to the original BDU design and have impressed me with their quality. Solid stitching throughout, though they always arrive with a couple loose threads. I have purchased both the tweed and the rip-stop cotton, and the tweed is heavier and seems tougher, though it attracts dog hair a bit more. Fit is exactly to spec, though be aware that they are fairly high-waisted and designed for proper boots. These are the only pants I will ever need to wear.Posted: May 7, 2020

Review of 100% Cotton Original Vietnam Tiger Stripe BDU pants. I love this pattern and the BDU cut. I would shorten the length from the top of the pants to the crotch by an inch or inch and a half. They arrived quickly. Four and a half stars.Posted: January 30, 2020

Great pants! Built tough and sized as shown. The button fly BDU pants are a classic that never gets old and the 65/35 material is fantastic. Buy Tru Spec with confidence!Posted: October 14, 2019

Ever since I put these on ≈2007 I have wondered what the point of other pants are. Light enough for the summer, and can accommodate three or four pairs of long underwear for the Swedish winter. They go great with a 1960s Star Trek uniform shirt for planetary exploration. Rugged as hell; the only pants you probably need.Posted: June 14, 2019

Great pair of pants that are quality made. I will primarily use these pants for hiking and camping so I will put these to the test shortly. Took a couple of washings to get the stiffness out but now they are good to go!Posted: September 30, 2017

Great pants! I wear Tru-Spec BDU pants very long time. Recently odered a new one. But how it can be, that pant leg in size Large Regular in width is the same as pant leg in Medium Regular!? The sizes have become bigger. In the past it was not so.Posted: June 22, 2017

My only suggestion would be to post inches instead of small, regular,X large regular..Its too ambiguous.What is small to one company is medium to another. I wear 34 inch waist,and still got pants too big that needed Tailoring to fit.Posted: February 16, 2017

Pleased with this product, just like the classic issued BDU but better. Belt loops on side seem to have been moved as to not interfere with cinching tabs/straps, accomodates rigger's belt nicely. Excellent material (50/50 NYCO ripstop) and perfect coloring (M81 Woodland), couldn't be happier with what I received. The only changes I would make to this particular product would be a drawstring in the cargo pocket like the ACUs and add button flap calf pockets, maybe slash rear pockets instead of the standard rear pockets. I'd also like to have the option for the GI winter weight polycotton twil (50/50) in woodland.Posted: February 6, 2017

Great pants! Have several pair that I wear riding wheelers, running chainsaw, Jeeping, any time I'm in the woods. Roomy and adjustable so you can add a pair of thermals for cold days. Fantastic customer service from Tru-Spec as well. Recommend 100%!Sign up for exclusive deals & product news
